This is a promo “I Saw Them When” show for 94.7FM. Appreciate the subsidized ticket cost. Nice.
Also appreciate Diamond going to this with me. Respect.
Second time seeing The Naked And Famous. Did a half-ass review prior. Here’s the link.
Compared to the first experience. Way more show. Stage backdrop. Roadies. Or a large local crew. I smelled money. I’m cycnical. New Zealand band. First album. Sirus push. Terrestrial push. Then local terrestrial promo. Cynical. Umusic is what? Universal? Regardless.
Here’s the bottom line. They need work.
The show has hella potential. “Young Blood” had people bouncing and doing it like there’s no tomorrow. And they played something new (didn’t recognize it) that cans the tape and goes more traditional band. It was good.
Portland doesn’t lie. I saw out of date fashions and hardly any ink in the crowd. Not a good sign.
HOWEVER. The mother and daughter slut team working the balcony rail and then sadly moving toward the back? I just don’t get it. All due respect. Better show is across the street for the price of a beer and a couple ones. Amateur hour.
