Haven’t been posting. Just going.
On the equation of whether people are more show than go, I’ve come to the conclusion. Show. For a town so creative, I can only take so many dudes with party in the front-business in the back hairstyles and horn rimmed glasses. Every uniform needs a revolution.
So I’ve been focusing on going. Seeing old favorites. Throwing new potentials in. Little show and go. Starting to race down the list of MFNW bands. And. Growing my hair. 360 style. When a band names their tour after their stock laden corporate deal and no one blinks, does anyone really notice at all? Never mind. Just think of this shit as a Bible parable. Then? Bulletproof. Like a tequila baptism.
Let’s do this up.
The Naked And Famous.
Most people would prolly want to hit you with a RIYL right now. Or throw in a nice little box for them like “buzz building youngsters from New Zealand with a fresh brand of blah, blah, blah.” I just really like their album. Passive Me, Aggressive You is a nice mix of new and old for me. Electro. Guitar. Male/female vocals. Some lyrical poetry. Enthusiasm. So. Here you go. I’ll do a RIYL. RIYL: Having sex and/or breathing.
I really like this band.
The show? Wellllll.
Rocking it out with someone special. Chris brought his kid for the first. You know. First show! Party. The Naked And Famous is opening for two bands I don’t want to see making this one an easy (read: very sober) and quick night. Props kid, you did good!!
Tracks I wanted to hear live are “Spank”, “Young Blood”, “A Wolf In Geek’s Clothing”, “All Of This”, and “Punching In A Dream”. I’m not kidding, for a debut album this is ridiculous. But. As a show. Way new. This isn’t where I start cutting on people. Just a very early catch on their upward swing. My read is they are a little shy. But, I obviously don’t know. Musically it was way fun. That side is all go. Wouldn’t be wrong with adding some show (no horn rim glasses, please, bloody hell) now. But, that usually follows after money. Which….if this band continues, I personally don’t see a problem. What’s better than 360? Fucking 720 tour. Fucking 2020 and the 1440degrees tour is going to be ill. Reinvent the circle for me! No pressure.
You with me? Doubtful. I get it. The Naked and Famous are playing a small show at the Doug Fir later in the year. That sounds tight. That’s the time to recklessly start getting geeky if it is heat.
