what the f is going on
feeling like the guy in his white FC Bayern Munchen shirt surrounded by people in black, I’ve seriously misjudged my wardrobe.
Warily eying the set time for the Kills (10:00), I get the F out of Dodge and head to Widmer for some cheaper beers.
And I can pretend I am the coolest guy there.
The Horrors are living up to their name.
I am up in the mezz sipping my beer and trying to figure what the hell happened.
The place is packed.
Packed.

Get the fuck out of my show!
OK. Moment passed. How do I get close?
I stick to the 21+ section, sacrifice a couple linear feet so I can stick to VV’s side of the stage.
Watching the roadie duct tape VV’s mic down so it wont extend vertically (while ignoring Hotel’s) I know I made the right choice.
Lights drop at 10:30. Hand intro plays, and we hit U.R.A Fever
2nd song is Pull a U and VV is on top of her monitor, hair in her eyes, screaming down at the crowd. A crazy version of Sour Cherry follows with VV hauling out what looks to be a Gretsch guitar.
Alphabet Pony is played and Hotel grabs VV by the back of the head and bangs her head toward the mic.
I am sure someone wants a misogyny ruling on that one. Judges from US and Russia are deadlocked.
Judge from Switzerland breaks the tie later in the set when VV is back on top of the monitor pogoing up and down on her mic in enthusiastic simulated fellatio during Getting Down.
Negative. VV will give Angelina Jolie a run for her money later in life for # of celebrity marriages busted up.
Between the pacing around on stage like a feral cat, perching on top of amps and monitors, and in general just slaying it. I am fine when the set ends at 11:25 with a hard rock version of Fried My Little Brains.
A cover of I Put A Spell On You is the second encore song. Transfixing. The final song ends with Hotel’s hat flying, VV’s necklace coming off, and finally with Hotel on his knees banging on his effects pedal with his knee and hand while distorting the sound further by bringing the mic back and forth towards his guitar with his free hand.
Songs played: Hand(intro), URA Fever, Alphabet Pony, No Wow, Getting Down, Sour Cherry, Cheap and Cheerful, Black Balloon, Last Day Of Magic, Tape Song, Hook And Line, Crazy (PCline cover), I Put A Spell On You, Fried My Little Brains, Pull A U
What a fucking night. Looks like this one will have to tide me over as VV fronts the Dead Weather!
